CERTIFIED medical administrative assistant (CMAA*)

This 420-hour program includes HIPAA Compliance, medical practice and ethics, medical practice and the law, office procedures, patients and medical records management, health and accident insurance, credit and collections, basic diagnostic coding, basic procedural coding, computer applications, medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, CPR and hands-on experience in the medical field.
*National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification testing to become a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) will be arranged for successful completers of this program.                    

 CERTIFIED BILLING AND CODING SPECIALIST (CBCS*)-$1,000 + $370 (text & exam)
December 8, 2008 - January 30, 2009 - Monday thru Friday - 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
(Prerequisite: Successful completion of CCTI Medical Administrative Assistant or Medical Terminology Program, a similar medical administrative assistant program OR current experience in a medical office or hospital medical records department for 2 or more years.) 

The focus of this 210-hour program is learning the coding rules for Procedural Coding (CPT and Level 2 HCPCS), Diagnostic Coding (ICD-9-CM) and applying the rules to code patient services.  The program also includes legal guidelines for medical billing and coding procedures and medical records, third party reimbursement, insurance claims, and hands-on experience in the medical field.  *National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification testing to become a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) will be arranged following successful completers of this program.

ADVANCED BILLING AND CODING SPECIALIST-$850 + $60 (text)
February 9 - March 20, 2009 - Monday thru Friday - 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
(Prerequisite: Successful completion of CCTI CBCS, a similar billing and coding program OR current experience in the billing and coding field for 2 or more years.  Student must also have current CPT and ICD-9 books.  Books may be purchased for an additional $200 fee) 
Students will learn an advanced level of ICD-9 and CPT 4 coding in this 210-hour program.  Areas covered include:  coding special complexities, determining codeable services, HCPCS codes, E&M management services, modifies, DRG and hospital diagnostic coding. Students will be able to identify the different reimbursement methodologies and define and identify fraud and abuse and their differences.  Students will also be able to perform a chart audit.                                                  

CERTIFIED MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND BILLING ASSISTANT (CMAA/CBCS*)
$2,625 + $700 (text and exams)

This 630-hour program includes the CMAA and CBSC programs.

(Prerequisite: Successful completion of CCTI Medical Administrative Assistant Program, a similar medical administrative assistant program OR current experience in a medical office or hospital medical records department for 2 or more years.)

This 420-hour program includes the CBCS program and Advanced Billing and Coding Specialist.

 CERTIFIED MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST (CMAA/CBCS* WITH ADVANCED BILLING AND CODING) - $3,375 + $760 (text & exams)
September 15, 2008 - March 20, 2009 - Monday thru Friday - 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

This 840-hour course combines all three programs – CMAA, CBCS and Advanced Billing and Coding. 
*National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification testing to become a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) will be arranged for successful completers of this program. 

MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY - $250 + $90 (text)
September 18 - November 20, 2008- Monday - 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
This 30-hour program is designed to meet the needs of students beginning their study of medical terminology.  Students will learn the basic elements, or word parts, that form most medical terms.  This course satisfies the prerequisite for Certified Billing and Coding Specialist.
