CERTIFIED medical administrative assistant (CMAA*)/ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS SPECIALIST (cehrs)

This 490-hour program includes HIPAA Compliance, medical practice and ethics, medical practice and the law, office procedures, electronic health records, patients and medical records management, health and accident insurance, credit and collections, basic diagnostic coding, basic procedural coding, computer applications, medical terminology, anatomy, pharmacology, CPR and hands-on experience in the medical field.
*National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification testing to become a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS)will be arranged for successful completers of this program.                    

 CERTIFIED BILLING AND CODING SPECIALIST (CBCS*)
$1,890 + $650 (text & exam)

May 14 - June 22, 2012- Monday thru Friday - 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
(Prerequisite: Successful completion of CCTI Medical Administrative Assistant or Medical Terminology Program, a similar medical administrative assistant program OR current experience in a medical office or hospital medical records department for 2 or more years.) 

The focus of this 210-hour program is learning the coding rules for Procedural Coding (CPT and Level 2 HCPCS), Diagnostic Coding (ICD-9-CM) and applying the rules to code patient services.  The program also includes legal guidelines for medical billing and coding procedures and medical records, third party reimbursement, insurance claims, and hands-on experience in the medical field.  *National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification testing to become a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) will be arranged following successful completers of this program.

CERTIFIED MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND BILLING ASSISTANT (CMAA/CEHRS/CBCS*)

This 630-hour program includes the CMAA and CBSC programs.

MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY - $270 + $90 (text)

This 30-hour program is designed to meet the needs of students beginning their study of medical terminology.  Students will learn the basic elements, or word parts, that form most medical terms.  This course satisfies the prerequisite for Certified Billing and Coding Specialist.
