School History
After the passage of the Vocational Act of 1963, the school directors of Carbon County were among the first to move in the direction of planning a complete Area Vocational Technical School. The Carbon County AVTS began enrolling students in 1966.
In 1992, the Carbon County AVTS became one of the first part-time AVTS in Pennsylvania to convert to a full-time, comprehensive program. The Class of 1995 was the first graduating class of the Carbon County Area Vocational-Technical School .
